El instrumento tiene como objetivo modificar parcialmente el Acuerdo mediante el cual se activa, integra y opera el Dispositivo Nacional de Emergencia de Sanidad Animal, para prevenir la entrada y diseminación del gusano barrenador del ganado ocasionado por la mosca (Cochliomyia hominivorax) y, en su caso, controlarlo y erradicarlo en las regiones 6 y 7 con posibilidad de extender su aplicación paulatina, parcial o total a las demás regiones previstas en el artículo 134 del reglamento de la Ley Federal de Sanidad Animal en caso de que se detecte o se tenga evidencia científica de la presencia o inminente diseminación de la plaga en otros estados del territorio nacional. Lo anterior con la finalidad de controlar el avance y diseminación del GBG y en su caso erradicarlo del territorio nacional y con ello disminuir el impacto económico y social que pueda causar dicha plaga al país.

The instrument aims to partially amend the Agreement through which the National Animal Health Emergency System is activated, integrated, and operated, in order to prevent the entry and spread of the New world screwworm (NWS) caused by the fly (Cochliomyia hominivorax) and, if necessary, control and eradicate it in regions 6 and 7, with the possibility of gradually, partially, or fully extending its application to the other regions specified in Article 134 of the LFSA regulations in case the presence or imminent spread of the pest is detected or scientifically evidenced in other states of the national territory. The foregoing is intended to control the advance and spread of the New world screwworm (NWS) and, if necessary, eradicate it from the national territory, thereby reducing the economic and social impact that this pest may cause to the country.
