El Acuerdo establece una Zona de Refugio Pesquero Parcial Temporal por 5 años, en un área de 72.59 km2, (7,239 ha) en la zona marina ubicada en aguas de jurisdicción federal adyacentes al municipio de Telchac Puerto, en el estado de Yucatán, donde únicamente podrá llevarse a cabo la pesca comercial de pulpo (Octopus maya), con el arte tradicional de Jimba (arte de pesca artesanal), durante el periodo del 1º de agosto al 15 de diciembre de cada año, respetando el periodo de veda vigente para cada año.

The Agreement establishes a Partial Temporary Fishing Refuge Zone for 5 years, in an area of 72.59 km2 (7,239 ha) in the marine zone located in federal jurisdiction waters adjacent to the municipality of Telchac Puerto, in the state of Yucatán, where only the commercial fishing of octopus (Octopus maya) may be carried out, using the traditional fishing method of Jimba (artisanal fishing), from august 1st to december 15th of each year, while respecting the current fishing ban period.
