La NOM-037-SCT2-2020 tiene por objeto establecer los criterios generales que han de considerarse para el diseño y colocación de barreras de protección, incluidos los parapetos de puentes, en las carreteras y vías urbanas de jurisdicción federal, estatal y municipal, así como establecer la designación, definición y utilización de los diversos elementos que conforman dichas barreras. La NOM-037-SCT2-2020 fue publicada en el DOF el 18 de febrero de 20221 y posteriormente su publicó una modificación al inciso 5.1.1. y adición de un artículo transitorio a dicha NOM, el 13 de octubre de 2022. Sin embargo, la autoridad normalizadora detectó que la tabla 2 de la modificación en comento, requiere un par de precisiones: la primera, referente a que para el nivel de contención 5 señalado en la primera columna, es necesario que el vehículo corresponda a camiones articulados con caja seca. Y la segunda, agregar al pie de la tabla 2 la Nota 3 que señale que “En los niveles de contención NC-4, NC-5 y NC-6 para la prueba con el camión unitario o tractocamión, según sea el caso, es preferible, aunque no esencial utilizar una configuración tipo cab-behind-engine (cabina atrás del motor).”
