The Free Trade Agreement between the United Mexican States and the States of the European Free Trade Association entered into force on July 1 of the same year. On June 29, 2012 was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation the Agreement by which the rate applicable from July 1, 2012 of the General Import Tax for goods originating in the States of the Association is disclosed. European Free Trade Agreement, through which the operators and customs authorities were made aware of the tariff conditions and the mechanisms that would govern the importation of goods originating from the European Free Trade Association, as of July 1, 2012. The June 17, 2014 Mexico and Iceland signed the Second Modifying Protocol to the Agreement on Agriculture between the United Mexican States and the Republic of Iceland, signed in Mexico City on November 27, 2000, made in Geneva, Switzerland, (Second Protocol Modificatorio), through which both countries agreed, among others, to eliminate customs tariffs on the importation into Mexico of water, including mining. natural or artificial and gassed, without addition of sugar or other sweetener or flavored, as well as ice and snow from Iceland. Said Modification Protocol was approved by the Senate of the Republic on April 26, 2018 according to Decree published in the Official Gazette of the Federation on June 18, 2018, and entered into force on September 1, 2018 according to the Decree of Promulgation published on August 31, 2018. By virtue of the foregoing, the purpose of this instrument is to make known to the operators and customs authorities the modifications to the Agreements by means of which the applicable rate as of July 1, 2012, is disclosed.
